Settings
Defaults are tuned for a balanced, cautious cleanup.
Organization style
How finely Reorder splits your files into folders.
Naming style
The template used for proposed filenames.
Folder depth
Maximum number of nested levels in the proposed structure.
AI behaviour
Conservative moves and renames less, keeps sensible folders and sends more files to Needs Review. Aggressive restructures deeply.
Privacy & AI processing
Reorder checks every file on your computer for sensitive information before deciding whether anything at all may be sent for classification.
Anonymous product analytics
During the beta, Reorder can count actions such as “scan completed” and “undo used”, plus plain numbers. Filenames, folder names and document contents are never included. This is off unless you switch it on.
This is separate from your plan usage. The files you organize and the AI analyses on your plan are always counted on Reorder’s servers so your free trial or Pro allowance stays correct — that counting cannot be turned off here and is not affected by this setting.
Confidence thresholds
Below the review threshold a file is never moved automatically — it waits for you in Needs Review. Your AI behaviour choice shifts the effective threshold to 70%.
Scanned documents
Some PDFs and photos of paperwork contain no real text — only a picture of it. Reorder can read those on your computer. The first scanned document downloads the language data it needs; nothing is uploaded.
Holiday photos are never put through text recognition — only page-like images are.
Performance
Controls how hard Reorder works on large folders. Lower values are gentler on slow machines and on AI rate limits.
